The flag portrays
the relaxed, bright, tropical image consistent with the Caribbean.
Black is symbolic of the nation's African heritage, blue
symbolizes hope and red represents the
energy and dynamism of the people.
Yellow, blue and white
graphically represent the sun, the sea and the sand, embraced within the
'V' shape, representing
Victory.
The sun also symbolises new beginnings,
the flag having been adopted at the time of
self-government, moving towards independence. |
